HISTORY

The Regatta for AQVA was founded in 2012 by Patrick Flaherty and David Wisenthal of the Royal Saint-Laurent Yacht-Club. Their goal was to organize a charity regatta, and they chose AQVA as the recipient of the funds that would be raised. Today, the organizing committee for this philanthropic regatta comprises some 14 people dedicated to its smooth running and success. 

The regatta is held annually and is open to the public free of charge, attracting race participants and fund-raisers mainly from the West Island of Montreal.

In May 2023, Patrick Flaherty passed away and the torch was passed to Nicole Vien and David Wisenthal.
